- Empowering our communities through digital skills
Digihub Africa aim at Initiating concrete actions that contribute to building a fairer and more inclusive society in the digital age, such as bridging the internet access gap by providing digital hubs in the local communities. The hubs will be accessible to individuals who meet the criteria to avoid wastefulness, as people tend to abuse resources when they are easily accessible to the public.
Digihub Africa develops and distributes comprehensive guides and training programs on digital security practices, secure communication tools, and safe browsing techniques. We are currently working on building online resources accessible to human rights activists.
Gender equality is the keystone for a prosperous, modern economy that provides sustainable, inclusive growth and further ensures that men and women can contribute fully to the betterment of societies and economies at large. Unfortunately, the digital gender divide in Africa continues to widen. There are various reasons that would explain this gender-based exclusion, which includes the social-cultural norms and lack of technological literacy. At Digihub Africa we are convinced that providing digital skills to girls and women in the continent has a potential to break the gender barriers. These would contribute to reduce gender inequalities in access to education, employment and socio-economic opportunities. By educating girls and women in using technology, we hope to empower them with essential skills to critically evaluate Online information, navigate Online platforms more responsibly and a Greater participation in decision-making process in their communities. With the ability to leverage technology, they will be able to raise awareness about critical issues affecting our society, advocate for positive change, and amplify their voice on various platforms.
Digital skills to empower and unlock Opportunities
It has become evident that digital skills training programs are a powerful tool for empowerment. At our digital hubs within the communities, women, the youth, vulnerable, and minority groups can access various educational and healthcare resources and new online opportunities. Basic coding, web development, or digital marketing skills, for example, would open doors into the global market by increasing their employability or readiness to engage in entrepreneurship. All this will contribute to boosting local economies.

Human Rights activists and ordinary citizens worldwide, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, continue to face significant risks, including harassment, censorship, and physical threats. The increasing crackdown or arrest of online journalists and pro-democracy and human rights activists for their opinions continues to raise concerns about the status of internet freedom on the African continent. Digihub Africa advocates for Internet Freedom.

Human Rights awareness and support
Very often of human rights abuse do not have resources for help. Our digital hubs link them to counsellors and therapists, who would not be accessible in ordinary circumstances. We arrange assistance through lives online sessions with counsellors or link them with other NGOs partners that assist with mental health, confidence skills development, and other help available that they may require. The hubs are the epicentres of access information and empower themselves in the process.
